Scrappy's Diner Reviews

No long dissertation here. It's Scrappy's IYKYK!! If you're in Fort Ann, stop in and support the local economy. Good food, great wait staff and Americana at it's best!

Cool place great food and service with a smile. Quiet small diner that is very well kept.

10/10 for diner food clean and delicious. Big pancakes the sausage was amazing potatoes were divine. Kind staff and the eggs were cooked perfectly.

Really cute place, great service & hard working girls in there! Good was delicious too - must stop for breakfast!

We ate breakfast here yesterday, great service, food was served quickly and hot. Always a good meal here. We recommend.

Best b-fast dive in the area. Clean, friendly staff and food is some good home cooking. No frills not fancy just great pancakes, home fries and coffee. Can't beat it for $13. Biggest pancake you will ever have.

I have driven past this place at least a million times in my life and on Monday I finally stopped for breakfast on Memorial Day. Holly Cow I was blown away. I had the best breakfast of my life and the ladies working in there are TOP NOTCH. I felt like my grandma my mom and all my aunties were cooking for me. I highly recommend and can't wait to go back for lunch and dinner

They don't make them like this back home. A 6 AM to 2 PM daily schedule where everyone knows your name. Sounds like Cheers except it isn't a bar. It's Scrappy's Diner. Found this place while we were road tripping to Vermont. Saw it randomly on the side of the road and literally screamed diner when everyone else was discussing where to go eat. We parked and got out of the car, some with more reservations than others. Truth is the outside of this place looks rundown. Or perhaps it looks like you're going somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It could also be that we are used to city life in Miami. We had no need to fear though. Upon entering, we were greeted by the sweetest lady. A waitress, she was wearing Christmas tree pajamas and running around everywhere with a smile on her face. The people there seemed to know her and love her, and well, we ended up, too. It is a shame we didn't get her name. A very caring person, she made us feel right at home. In fact, once we told her we were from Miami and two of us had never seen snow, that became the opening for when regulars would come in, and believe me, there were plenty! Each and every person gave us advise and good wishes relating to the snow. I'm also happy to report that we flew out on time, which was a possibility everyone discussed. As far as food goes, it was beyond affordable. Six of us ate for $60 or so. The portions, too, were massive. I had a vegetable omelette with toast and potatoes. Not to mention that our waitress kept refilling our mugs with some toasty coffee that putting it simply was divine. Everyone was in full agreement pertaining to their respective dishes. The food, the hospitality, the quaintness of this place was one of a kind. It felt like family. Like going home to grandmother's house. Nothing else comes close. If I'm ever in Fort Ann again, there is no doubt I will return. I was heavenly struck by it.

Diners are pretty much the same, the place where locals tend to congregate, chat, debate, complain and generally find a home away from home. Scappy's is your quentiscential diner in the rural Adirondacks. Good coffee, good food, good service, conversation and an American tradition of rural authenicity. Small businesses and places like this have been under a heavy economic burden. Some will survive, many won't that was clear on our recent trip through upstate NY. Fortunately, Scrappy's has persevered, not without very real headwind challenges but the woman who owns Scrappy's, let just say, though pushed to the edge, she draws on the name of her little restaurant to push and motivate her on. This is one of those fast disappearing rural hidden gems you don't want to miss while they remain.
